Working Dogs and Heroes
Although most of us consider our dogs to be our 'babies' or our 'best friend,' some people depend on dogs for much more than companionship and love. The dogs who meet the needs for these particular people are what we at DeesDogCare consider, The Elite.
Elite dogs are smart ~ they have to be in order to undergo the extensive training that many of their occupations require. Even dogs that are heroes, rather than working dogs are extremely smart. We've all heard stories about dogs who ran off and found help for their owner when the owner was somehow in jeopardy.
Meet
Billie. Billie is a beautiful little dog who loves to cheer people
up. She works as a volunteer through her Humane Society visiting
people who are ill or shut in. Her work with
the Valley Humane Society as a Pet Therapy Dog has
been rewarding for her, her 'mommy,' and the people whom she's visited.
Studies show that animals can have a significant impact on the rate of
healing in ill patients and that shut in people often agree that their
quality of life is improved by visits with dogs like Billie.
